The Benadir Regional Education Directorate medical team conducted an eye examination for students at Al-Bashir School. The Somali Ophthalmologists Association has assisted the BRED health section to conduct eye exams for Al-Bashir School students, the first of its kind for Al-Bashir School students in collaboration with the Benadir Regional Education Directorate and the SOMALI OPTOMETRIC ASSOCIATION. The school administration and students are grateful for the collective survey of students who do not have access to free medical services, and the BRED health department is stepping up efforts to maintain sanitation in Banadir Region schools so that students have a clean place to study as well. The BRED team pledged to work with civil society organizations, particularly the health sector, to provide free health care to underprivileged students in Banadir Region. The Somali Ophthalmologists Association, for its part, said it was ready to take part in charity work to screen underprivileged Somali students, especially students with special needs. Accelerating health services in educational institutions and for students, especially those with special needs, is part of the plan to improve and enhance education in Benadir Region.
